In addition to the greening of Buffalo’s streets, KC’s has organized hundreds of street cleanups, and removed graffiti from hundreds of neighborhoods buildings. During the warmer months of the year our members and staff organize street cleanups in the Allentown area on Saturday mornings. Martial arts and conflict resolution classes have been offered to inner city teenagers over the years and from 2004 through 2009 the program was run through the auspices of the First Presbyterian Fight Back Program. The latter worked to assist African refugees in a number of areas including after school tutoring and self defense workshops. Presently, the facility organizes small fundraisers several times a year to assist a variety of causes.

The employees and members of this gym have contributed time and money for countless other causes that are too numerous to mention. It is our belief that individuals must take responsibility for their own health and well being; second to this, a person must take an interest in the health of his or her community. Businesses are no different, and they must tend to the community where they derive their existence. An old Irish saying proclaims that we drink from wells we never dug and warm our hands by fires we never built.
